Public transport around Phuket can be slightly tricky. Taxis and Tuk Tuks can be quite expensive. The local “Song Taew” bus service can be a little bit unreliable and generally only run during the daytime. The alternative to this is to rent a scooter. It really is the best way to see the island.

Rental Prices for Yamaha Nouvo:
Daily – 250thb, Weekly – 1200thb, Monthly – 3000thb

Bikes have compulsory 3rd party injury insurance which covers bills to a 3rd party for 50,000 baht. However this does not cover you for your stay in hospital. We strongly recommend you obtain travel insurance from your home country. Insurance companies do not generally cover damage to motorbikes. You will be responsible for any damage to the bikes, the good news is that replacement parts are very cheap, and a complete motorbike can be replaced for around 35000thb.
The Royal Thai Police require that you have a vehicle licence from your home country. This is valid for up to 3 months in Thailand from your date of entry. (As of 15/Jan/2016, the governer of Phuket is looking to make it mandatory that all foreigners have international driving licenses, more to follow soon)
All that we require is a photocopy of your passport and a receipt from your hotel to prove your address in Phuket.
We also require a 3000 Baht deposit when you pick up the bike. This will be returned to you, when you return the bike in the same condition that you hired it. We strongly suggest you take pictures of the bike when you hire it.
Bikes are not permitted off the island without prior consent.
